Dewana D. Al-Mateen – President & Founder

Dewana founded VLRD Management Group after having successfully assisted friends, family members, and colleagues in negotiating and resolving their enormous tax debt.    Over the past decade, Dewana has studied and become extremely knowledgeable of tax rules, regulations and laws enabling her to navigate the maze of IRS  tax relief.  She grew up in a small, rural town in South Carolina where she learned the value of hard work being essential to personal development, growth, and success.  Dewana’s father and late mother, Virginia Louise Rauch Daniel (who the firm is affectionately named after) worked for decades as successful entrepreneurs in the salon, farming and land development industries.  It was Dewana’s parents who taught her the importance of providing ethical, responsible and quality service to your clients which is the foundation of a successful business.

Dewana is a graduate of Morgan State University, where she earned a B.S. Degree in Management,  Stevenson University where she earned a Master’s in Business & Technology Management, and Wake Forest University, Masters of Studies in Law (2023).   She has decades of experience in handling legal matters involving real estate, contracts and taxes.  She is a proud member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), where she was appointed and served in several capacities for many years providing program leadership and educating minority and underserved communities in the areas of financial literacy and economic empowerment around the country.
